We mastered Photoshop before
Photoshop was a thing!
At the age of eight, I discovered a Rolleiflex TLR camera in my father’s gadgets. The experience of viewing the world upside-down and low to the ground was fascinating to me, and ever since then photography has been my passion and my calling. I moved on to shoot with SLRs seeing right side up, large format view cameras seeing upside down and now with digital SLRs. No matter what equipment I was using, I have had some great experiences with many people over the years. I have been shooting professionally for for almost 35 years, since my first job with Huffy Bikes in 1986. All of these experiences, different people and cities I have worked in, helped lead to Thompson Creative Imaging which was born in 2004 with my partner Jim.
I have a passion for every job I do and image created. Even though I have had my images seen around the world, they will probably never hang in an art gallery. It is my art. I’m proud of it along with everyone involved in the process.
My biggest passion outside of work is to travel. I have been to Canada, the Caribbean Islands, Italy and across this great nation from coast to coast. All with my camera in hand! Being a friend, father and husband is my only greater gift.
I've been working with Photoshop for 30 years. Back when I started, there weren't even any jobs that used it professionally! But I loved it so much that I kept at it and became one of the first to make it a career. Now I'm considered one of the best in the business.
I've always had a passion for photography, which I inherited from my dad and older brother. My dad used to capture all our family events on Kodachrome slides, and my brother owned one of the first 30-minute photo labs in the area. Over the years, I've become an expert in Photoshop and my work has been recognized in several publications.
When I'm not working, I love to travel with my wife and daughter. National parks are our favorite destinations, and we've been lucky enough to visit many of them. During the pandemic, we started doing month-long road trips and have covered every state west of the Mississippi river, as well as Labrador and Newfoundland. It's been an incredible adventure, and I feel so grateful to have been able to explore so much of this beautiful country.
